LaQuan Smith described the look as “a mix of sexy Bond girl meets Harlem Renaissance,” highlighting bold lines, luxurious materials, and a fearless approach to fashion. The gown itself took 1,455 hours to complete and was praised for its audacious design and adherence to the night’s focus on Black style and tailoring. 

 Berry’s sheer, body-hugging dress sparked significant conversation online. Some admired her confidence and willingness to embrace daring fashion, while others felt the look was too revealing, particularly around the crotch area. Berry responded positively to the experience, expressing pride in wearing a gown that made her feel “powerful, purposeful and proud”.
